How much does hair and makeup cost for an elopement?
Most wedding stylists in Colorado charge around $400 for bridal hair and makeup services. This price may drop significantly if you opt to go into a salon instead of using the usual on-site services where they stylist travels to you. Through Colorado MicroWeddings, we offer packages starting at $350 for on-site hair and makeup, and also have a network of salons that offer less expensive alternatives in Breckenridge, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Estes Park.
Should I have a hair and makeup trial for my elopement?
Most couples come from out of state and don’t have the chance to do a trial, so it’s definitely not required! However, a trial can be a good idea to ensure you and your artist are on the same page regarding your desired look. During the trial, you can determine the final look for your special day with the makeup artist's expertise and your vision in mind. It's not always necessary, but it can provide peace of mind.
Do hair and makeup artists come to the wedding venue for micro-weddings?
Yes, Colorado hair and makeup artists that specialize in weddings, always offer on-site services, and can come to your hotel, rental home, or venue.
What should I do to prepare for my wedding hair and makeup appointment?
Your stylist will provide specific recommendations based on their preferences, but generally speaking: it's essential to have clean, dry hair and a clean, makeup-free face before your appointment. Also, wear a button-up or zip-up shirt to avoid smudging makeup when changing. Your stylist might also guide pre-wedding preparations, such as a skincare or hair care routine. Following your stylist's recommendations will ensure the best results and prevent a lot of hassle and time when preparing for your wedding.
The best way to prepare for your bridal makeup session is to wash your hair so it's clean but not too smooth and silky. You should also moisturize your skin so that the makeup will apply better and last longer. It is best if you do not wax any facial hair or receive a facial less than five days prior to your wedding day.
What happens if there are delays with my hair and makeup on the day of my wedding?
There is always a possibility of accidents and delays. In this case, it's essential to allow some buffer time in your wedding day schedule for unexpected delays, if your working with a wedding planner they will always add in a bit of extra time to account for this—so don’t worry if you get behind schedule a bit.
How long before the ceremony should hair and makeup be done?
The timing of hair and makeup on your wedding day can vary according to several factors, like the travel time from your hotel to your wedding venue or any pre-wedding activities you might have planned. But usually, a bride is recommended to complete hair and makeup at least 2 hours before the ceremony. This allows for any touch-ups and gives you time to relax, take photographs, and get into your wedding clothes without feeling rushed.
How can I achieve a bridal style for long hair if I have short hair?
If your desired bridal look requires long hair to complete the look, you can use slip-in extensions to achieve your dream look. If you are unsure, you can talk with your stylist for short-hair alternatives!
