This is the perfect package for people looking to plan a small wedding in the beautiful mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. This beautiful mountain town is known for its rolling valleys, dynamic mountain ranges, and breathtaking wildflower fields. Planning an elopement, or small wedding, in Crested Butte is the perfect way to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of Colorado. The town itself is a bit isolated, with a 4 hour drive from Denver, but it remains a destination all year around thanks to their world class ski resort. You’ll find plenty of micro-wedding friendly lodging and dining options nearby, with more than enough activities to keep your group entertained for the weekend.

With my team being based out of Denver, there are some limitations on the services I’m able to provide, but I can still help couples create an affordable stress-free wedding experience!

Planning Service: $500
This is the only required payment for my services, the vendors below are all optional.

Photographer (1.5 Hours): $600 + $400 Travel
Videographer: $1,100 + $400 Travel
Wedding Officiant: $300 + $400 Travel
Flowers (Bouquet & Bout): Starting at $130 + $40 Delivery

Depending on the time of year and the time of day, there may be an additional $100 hotel fee per vendor.

Ceremony Site?

If you have your own location for the ceremony, I can send vendors anywhere we are allowed to be! If you need a location, the one in the image above is the only micro-wedding friendly ceremony site that I’m familiar with. This ceremony site can accommodate up to 50 people and offers absolutely stunning views of the mountains and water!
Ceremony site: $1,500
Seating is not provided, but can be rented locally (prices vary).


**Please note, at this time, my planning services for the Crested Butte area are limited strictly to the coordinating of these vendors. If you are looking for hands-on assistance with other vendors, reception planning, lodging/dining facilitation, I would recommend trying to find a more traditional coordinator based out of that area.**

Crested Butte offers a variety of beautiful scenery all year around. If you are looking for a winter wedding, you should aim for January - April. If you are looking for a summer wedding, you should aim for Mid-June thru Mid - September. If you want aspens and changing fall colors, you should aim for Mid-September thru Mid-October.

What is the best time of day to elope in Crested Butte?
To get the best lighting for photos, it’s important to optimize for sunrise or sunset, for a wedding in Crested Butte, this would range from 6am (sunrise) to 5pm-ish (sunset) depending on the season. Be sure to double check the exact sun trajectory at your designated site, the sun may set early if it gets behind mountains.

Where are the best places to elope in Crested Butte?
Crested Butte has a ton of beautiful locations for elopements that are free to use. Gothic Valley is a popular spot with dynamic mountain and valley views. If you can time it right, Washington Gulch offers rolling wildflower fields, perfect for wedding photos. There are also some more remote locations if your looking for an adventure elopement, like Scarp Ridge and Paradise Divide.

Eloping in Crested Butte is simple: hire a photographer, find a location, and get a Colorado Marriage License. The whole process of eloping should be fast, easy, and affordable.

How do I get a marriage license in Crested Butte?
Getting a marriage license in Crested Butte, Colorado is fast and easy. Simply go into the Gunnison County Clerk & Recorder during business hours, and you’ll be able to fill out paperwork and get a marriage license within 20 minutes for $30.

Crested Butte Colorado allows couples to “Self-Solemnize” which means you can simply sign the license and file it right on the spot to be legally married.

There is NO waiting period.
You do NOT need witnesses to sign the license.
You do NOT need a wedding officiant to sign the license.
You do NOT need to do a blood test.

How much does it cost to elope in Crested Butte?
The only required cost is the $30 marriage license, but many couples choose to hire a photographer ($700 - $3,000) and an officiant ($500 - $700). Some couples also add on things like flowers, hair and makeup, video, all of which can shift the budget for the day.
