Why Couples Love Garden of the Gods
Garden of the Gods is a beautiful mountain park, conveniently located just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The park is open all year around, and allows weddings without a permit for small groups. The natural red rock formations and dynamic views provide breathtaking backdrops for photos, and the convenient parking and accessibility allows couples to get mountain vibes, without hiking.
Unfortunately…
This location tends to be PACKED with people, and other weddings. Weekends are best avoided, but even weekdays tend to be crowded. If you want privacy, we gotta do sunrise, or a different location.

Wedding Officiant
Professional officiant who specializes in small weddings! They’ll customize the wedding script (religious or secular), lead the ceremony, and assist with the marriage license.

Photography
Professional wedding photographer for the ceremony, group/family shots, & couple’s portrait session.
You get: 75-150+ edited digital photos.

Garden of the Gods Permits, Rules & FAQs
Wedding Permit
Good news! There is no permit required to have a wedding at one of the designated ceremony sites in Garden of the Gods.
Max Group Sizes
Each ceremony site in Garden of the Gods has its own designated max group size, technically some of them support up to 50 people, but because of the crowds and limited parking, we only plan weddings in the park for up to 30 guests.
The Best Ceremony Site
The best ceremony site in Garden of the Gods is High Point Overlook. This is a beautiful site with sweeping mountain views and red rock formations, but more importantly, it’s one of the only spots where you can get a parking spot.
Parking & Accessibility
Our preferred ceremony site, High Point Overlook, sits just off the edge of a large parking lot, making it very accessible.
Photo Spots
High Point Overlook offers dynamic mountain views for the ceremony, and after that, the photographer can take the couple just a few minutes down the trails to get more photos at our favorite spots.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed at Garden of the Gods, but must be kept on a six foot leesh.
Decorations, Arches, and Chairs
You are not allowed to setup chairs, tables, decorations, or arches at Garden of the Gods.
When to Elope at Garden of the Gods
The park is open 365 days a year, and we do elopements here all year around!
Best Month to Elope at GoG
The most popular months to elope at Garden of the Gods are Mid-June through mid-October. This is peak wedding season in Colorado, and offers comfortable conditions and easy access. Winter conditions are possible late-October through late-April, with the highest chances of snow January through March.

Best Day to Elope at GoG
The best day of the week to elope at Garden of the Gods is a Tuesday or Wednesday, this is when there is the least amount of traffic in the park. I always suggest avoiding Friday-Sunday when possible, and definitely avoiding Saturdays when parking can be near impossible.
Best Time to Elope at GoG
The best time to elope at Garden of the Gods is sunrise, this is optimal lighting for photos, and has the least amount of people around. Sunset is also great lighting for photos, but can be very crowded.

Planning, Vendors, & License
I connect you with my team of world-class vendors (photographer, officiant, etc.) based on your preferences. I’ll coordinate the logistics for the day, and provide guidance on obtaining the marriage license.
Step 4
Get Married!
You’ll meet up with my day-of vendors at GoG (like photographer/officiant) and they will lead the day! You’ll have a simple ceremony, followed by a photo session. Your officiant will sign the marriage license, and then it’s off to celebrate (usually) at a local restaurant - I’ll provide some great recommendations!
