Why Maroon Bells?
Maroon Bells Amphitheater is part of the White River National Forest, is located just outside of Aspen, Colorado. The sharp peaks, crystal lake, and dynamic views provide breathtaking backdrops for weddings and photos, and the amphitheater provides easy accessibility and seating for guests.
Unfortunately…
This is one of the most popular wedding locations in Colorado, and getting a permit is very difficult. They generally sell out permits the moment they open, 365 days in advance.
Still Not Sure Where You Want to Get Married?
I have a guide with 50+ of the best micro-wedding and elopement locations in Colorado.

Travel Fee: The fee above includes a $100 hotel fee for each vendor which is removed for ceremonies that start at noon or later.
Timing: You get the amphitheater from 9am to 3pm, but if photos are a priority, I suggest portraits at 7am, and your ceremony right at 9am for the best lighting.
Parking Passes: With your reservation, you will receive parking passes, each of my onsite vendors need to receive one of these.
Group Size: The ceremony site technically allows up to 50 people, but I strongly discourage it for groups of larger then 20, due to the logistical conflicts that can come with the parking/shuttle system for large groups.
Reception: Most small weddings like this simply head to a local restaurant for dinner after the ceremony - there’s no right or wrong way to do this, it’s just personal preference!
Other Services: My planning services for the Aspen area are limited to the elements above. If you are looking for hands-on assistance with other vendors, reception planning, lodging/dining facilitation, my services may not be the right fit.

My Opinion…
I’ve planned and officiated dozens of weddings at Maroon Bells Amphitheater over the years, and I can say that it is one of the most beautiful micro-wedding locations in Colorado. With that being said, Aspen is a very expensive area, and quite difficult to get to. Plus, getting a permit for Maroon Bells Amphitheater has become incredibly difficult in recent years.
If this location doesn’t work for you, there’s a LOT of other beautiful micro-wedding locations in Colorado to consider!
