Why are your prices so low?

When I started officiating weddings on Craigslist 7 years ago, I had a simple idea: help couples create affordable weddings. Since then, my services as an elopement company have grown in almost every way, but I've always kept things simple. I built my own website, I do my own marketing, and I answer my own phone. As a corporate-free one man team, I'm able to keep my expenses down, which means I can also keep my prices down. Additionally, my Vendors and I are a close-knit team. My services make their lives easier, and in exchange, they offer my couples discount rates. And while I pride myself on having the best prices in the state, this is not a "budget" service in terms of quality. I know all the best locations, I only work with the best vendors, and my planning services are unrivaled in terms of speed, simplicity, and efficiency.

Can our dog sign the marriage license?

Yes! Colorado does allow your dog to sign the marriage license acting as your "Witness". However, there are some clerks that have started not allowing this, so we'll need to make sure to find one that still does.

Are your packages all-inclusive?

Colorado MicroWeddings offers flexible all-inclusive packages that allow couples to customize the services they need. Our custom packages can include any combination of the following: Planner, Photographer, Officiant, Florist, Videographer, Stylist, and Venue. However, you are not required to use any of these services, which means you only pay for what you actually need. Full Transparency: We break down all our pricing per vendor, so you know exactly what each component of the day actually costs.

Are witnesses required to get married in Colorado?

Colorado does not require you to have witnesses at the wedding, or sign the marriage license. The "Witness" signature lines on the Colorado marriage license are optional, and can be filled out for fun if you'd like.

Can you have a wedding at a rental home in Colorado?

Yes! You can have a wedding at a rental home, VRBO, or AirBnB in Colorado, however you have to make sure to follow all county and host guidelines. Keep in mind, many rental homes have "no event" policies, that forbid you from having anyone on site who is not an "overnight" lodging guest, so you'll have to make sure to find a home that allows events.

What is the best month to get married in Colorado?

We do weddings in Colorado outside all year around! The best time of year for a Colorado elopement depends on personal preferences. January through April is best for couples looking for snowy winter weddings, while June through September are best for those looking for summer conditions. June and September are the busiest wedding months of the year in Colorado.

Is a wedding officiant required in Colorado?

Nope! Colorado does not require a wedding officiant to get married. The state allows couples to "self-solemnize," where they sign the license on their own, or have a friend act as the wedding officiant (though they must be legally ordained to do so). With my services I'm happy to provide guidance on self-officiating and friend-officiant options.

Where is the best place to elope in Colorado?

Colorado offers tons of beautiful locations for elopements and small weddings. The most popular areas are Breckenridge, Estes Park, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Denver. Breckenridge offers dynamic mountain views and beautiful mountain lakes. Estes Park is the town on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most popular elopement destinations in Colorado. Boulder offers beautiful views of the famous Flatiron mountains along with evergreen forests and green meadows. Denver offers mountain elopement locations in the foothills along with unique urban wedding locations. Aspen offers beautiful mountain landscapes but is extremely expensive and difficult to travel to.

I connect you with my team of world-class vendors (photographer, officiant, etc.) based on your preferences. I’ll coordinate the logistics for the day, and provide guidance on securing permits, and the marriage license.

Step 4
Get Married!
You’ll meet up with my day-of vendors (like photographer/officiant) and they will lead the day! You’ll have a simple ceremony, followed by a photo session. Your officiant will sign the marriage license, and then it’s off to celebrate (usually) at a local restaurant!

Elopement Planners
Colorado MicroWeddings works as a small wedding planner who specializes in putting together elopement packages. The primary role of this service is to help couples find the perfect location for their wedding, coordinate the Vendors, and help with the little stuff (timing, license, permits, etc.). There are a couple of wedding planners in the state who offer similar versions of this, with some specialty services offering packages up to $35,000.

Photographer Planners
Another popular service in Colorado is photographers who offer elopement planning services. These are generally best for groups without guests, and for couples who are looking for more of an “adventure” style elopement with a full day of hiking and photography (as most packages have a 4-6 hour minimum).
