Private Ceremony Sites
0 to 35-ish Guests

This page gives info on all the locations that I’m personally familiar with.
You are NOT required to use one of these locations, if you have your own location already, just let me know!

  • Are There Other Options?
This page has all the “Private Ceremony Sites” that I know of for small groups, I also have some great “Public Ceremony Sites” for small groups (click here) and some “Ceremony + Reception Venues” for larger groups (click here). Or, if you have your own location in mind, just let me know!

    How Much Hiking?
All of these locations are less than a 5-10 minute walk from the parking area—unless stated otherwise.

    Rental Homes?
I recently teamed up with a close friend to create a guide that compiles the best wedding homes in Colorado! You’ll have the option to add this guide to my package for +$50, or you can buy it directly here.

    Can My Dogs Come?
Yes! Almost all of the outdoor sites below allow dogs on-leash. The sites where they are not allowed will specifically say so.

Owned by one of the top wedding venues in the area, and personally coordinated by Colorado MicroWeddings, this simple ceremony site is perfect for small groups looking for privacy and mountain views in the Estes Park area. This location is nearby Rocky Mountain National Park, so if you do at least 2 hours of photography, we can go into the park to do your portraits, you can see the spot in the last picture.

NEW LOCATION:
Starting June 14 2026, all weddings at Sapphire Point will be using the all new “North Overlook” (2nd photo). The trail passes right above this spot, so people will still be in the area, but it should be more private than the old overlook. Additionally, they have built in stone seating.

NEW RULES:
No chairs, No Decor, No Amplified Music, No Food/Drinks.

As a certified planner with the park I can secure the permit for you. I get access to an expedited service and a $50 discount.

This is for a 2 hour “Ceremony Only” rental of one of their designated sites, but this does not give exclusive use of an area, so people may still be around. Each site offers different views and has different group size limits.
The only truly “private” site is Moraine Park Amphitheater.
—No Dogs allowed—

This area has become increasingly popular for elopements, hiking, and photoshoots. It’s basically always busy, but I especially discourage booking this location on weekends May-October. I generally don’t recommend this site - but it can be the best option for some groups!

PHOTO IDEA!
If you do at least 2 hours of photography, we can go up the road to do some portraits at the beautiful Lost Gulch Overlook (photo 3).

More Location Info

This ceremony site is located just off of a large parking area with nice mountain views. You can walk down the trails for additional photos afterwards. This is the MOST POPULAR elopement location in Colorado. It is also VERY popular for sightseeing, photo shoots, and weddings. Parking is always difficult. I only suggest it for sunrise, but especially suggest avoiding weekends.

Crested Butte, Aspen, Grand Lake, Etc.

Denver Area

Near Denver, Colorado
15mins west of Denver | $0 Travel Fee
Supports up to 20 guests

$250 Permit
This is for a 2 hour “Ceremony Only” rental
No seating, music, or decorations allowed

This is one of the few mountain spots near Denver that works for a small group, there are public trails that pass by, but does give a good amount of privacy for the ceremony. The views for the ceremony are limited, but after the ceremony you can go across the street to take photos with dynamic mountain views! (picture 2).

Can only be booked 4 or less months in advance.

Near Evergreen (West of Denver), Colorado
45mins west of Denver | $80 Travel Fee
Supports up to 50 Guests

$750 - $1000 Weekdays (Morning or Evening)
$1,000 - $1,500 Weekends (Mornings)

Seating provided, music and decorations allowed

Available April 15 - October 15
But plan for June 15 - September 30 if you don’t want winter conditions.

This is a small mountain top ski resort that offers incredibly budget friendly pricing for a mountaintop wedding! They also offer full ceremony and reception packages for larger groups (info in the bottom section of this page).

Note!
For the pricing and the views, it’s hard to get anything close to this… BUT the ceremony site is off to the side of a large gravel parking lot. So the photo you see here, and the view your guests have is quite nice, but you don’t quite have that full panoramic mountain top vibe you get at some of the other resorts (which is why those resorts charge $7k+).

Near Golden (West of Denver), Colorado

Not Recommended for more than 40

Their ceremony only option is only available before 2pm, which means May-October the only way to get good lighting for photos is to do something early in the morning like before 9am. We can do later in the day, but the lighting can be quite harsh if we have clear skies.

I haven’t personally used this location yet but it looks really cool! In addition to the greenhouse they are on a farm so you can take photos on the grounds. The greenhouse is empty so you’d need to bring chairs/decor if you want to style it up.

It closes to the public at 5pm and ceremonies are after.

$1095 Permit
This is for a 2 hour “Ceremony Only” rental
Seating provided, music and decorations allowed.

A great option for a beautifully unique (and butterfly filled!) indoor wedding ceremony. They only allow ceremonies after 5pm, so in the winter this means you won’t have natural light. We can make it work, but generally I recommend this locations May - September.

PRIVATE

$200 Permit
This is for a 4 hour “Ceremony Only” rental
Seating included, music and decorations allowed

Permit Note
This is the highest demand small wedding venue in the state. It is only available June 7th - October 4th (No Fri/Sat in June/July/Aug and no Fri/Sat/Sun in Sep/Oct) and generally books out exactly 365 days in advance within seconds—it can be extremely difficult to secure a permit. Aspen is also the most expensive area of Colorado, so expect to have limited/high-prices on both lodging and dining.

My Services
The services I’m able to provide for this venue are limited to: Photographer (min 1.5 hours), Officiant, Florist and/or Videographer (min 1.5 hours). I don’t often work in this area and do not have resources or recommendations in regards to dining, lodging, transportation, salons, or decor/rentals.

Timing
Sunset ceremonies are not allowed at this site, which means to get good lighting, we’ll have to do as early in the morning as possible. Generally this means the “First-Look” and portraits around 8am with the ceremony around 9am.

NO PERMIT OPTION! - (Photo 2)
Without a permit we are able to do a simple “vow exchange” and portrait session on the trails nearby in the evenings, June 7 - Oct 4 (no Fri-Sun). You’ll get awesome photos and have awesome views, but there may be people in the area, and you are not allowed to have an officiant or ANY guests.
This package is 50% off my planning fee ($250 total) and $600 +$350 travel for 1.5 hours of photography.

Crested Butte, Colorado

We don’t work much in this area, but we do have one great micro-wedding spot!
