This page gives info on all the “Public Ceremony Sites” that I’m personally familiar with, I also have some great “Private Ceremony Sites” for small groups (click here).
You are NOT required to use one of these locations, if you have your own location already, just let me know!

  • Are There Other Options?
This page has all the “Public Ceremony Sites” that I know of for small groups, I also have some great “Private Ceremony Sites” for small groups (click here). Or, if you have your own location in mind, just let me know!

    Permits
We hold all necessary permits/licenses to conduct wedding ceremonies at these locations (if applicable) - no additional permits are required on your end.

    How Much Hiking?
All of these locations are less than a 5-10 minute walk from the parking area—unless stated otherwise.

    Adventure Weddings?
Looking to do a couple hours of hiking, or maybe a hot air balloon, helicopter, or ski wedding?

    Rental Homes?
I recently teamed up with a close friend to create a guide that compiles the best wedding homes in Colorado! You’ll have the option to add this guide to my package for +$50, or you can buy it directly here.

    Can My Dogs Come?
Yes! Almost all of the sites below allow dogs on-leash. The sites where they are not allowed will specifically say so.

    Network Locations
The locations marked with this title are not able to be used with photographers, videographers, and/or officiants from outside my network (friend/family officiants are okay). Exceptions to this rule may be made case-by-case for a $150 fee, and also require the vendor to sign a confidentiality agreement. Please email me for details.

    Max Guest Counts?
Guest counts include every human being in your group that is not the couple, or a wedding vendor. These numbers are based on a combination of both formal regulations and guidelines, as well "Leave No Trace" practices, and our own professional opinion of what is appropriate and respectful of the area. The misuse and abuse of public land is a serious problem in Colorado. We do everything we can to not be part of that problem :)

    Travel Fees
Travel fees vary based on the wedding location, and apply for each of the on-site vendors of mine that you use (officiant, photographer, videographer, and stylist).
    Denver - $0 | Boulder - $50 | Estes Park - $135 | Breckenridge - $135 | Colorado Springs - $120 | Aspen - $350 | Vail - $200 | Granby/Grand Lake - $180 | Steamboat - $250 | Glenwood Springs - $250 | Fort Collins - $100
Crested Butte* (click here) - $400
    Durango* (click here) - $100

“Express Ceremony Sites”

These are the seven most popular free-to-use elopement locations in Colorado.

Chautauqua Park Trails

Near Boulder, Colorado
30-45 minutes northwest of Denver | $50 Travel Fee
*Max Guest Count 3
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings and people in the area.

This area has become increasingly popular for elopements, hiking, and photoshoots. It’s basically always busy, but I especially discourage booking this location on weekends May-October.
More Location Info

Photo Idea!
If you do at least 2 hours of photography, we can go up the road to do some portraits at the beautiful Lost Gulch Overlook.

*As of 2026, technically they allow groups of up to 15 people total (including the couple & wedding vendors), but this location has gotten very strict about enforcing the “no going off the trails” rule for weddings, and it’s really uncomfortable for larger groups. If you have a larger group, I suggest using the “Lawn” site for the ceremony (photo 3).

Officer’s Gulch

Near Breckenridge, Colorado
1.5 hours west of Denver | $135 Travel Fee
*Max Guest Count 6 (flexible up to 10)
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings and people in the area.

This location has become very popular for family portraits and elopements in the last year. It’s big enough that you can work around each other, but expect other groups in the area. The “rock” ledge you see in the first photo is the most popular location, if you are set on this spot for the ceremony you may need to wait for another group to finish. But there are other areas around the lake as well!

HIGHWAY: While it’s not a significant issue at all, there is a highway relatively close to this location that creates a mild ambient noise in the area.

*I really don’t think this location works well for groups of more than 6 guests, but some planners do up to 10 guests, so we can match this.

Garden of the Gods

Near Colorado Springs, Colorado
1.5 hours south of Denver | $120 Travel Fee
Technically supports up to 45 Guests
Only recommended for groups up to 10
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings and people in the area.
More Location Info

This ceremony site is located just off the edge of a larger parking area, after the ceremony you can walk down the trails for photos. This is the MOST POPULAR elopement location in Colorado. It is also VERY popular for sightseeing, photo shoots, and weddings. Parking is always difficult. I only suggest it early in the morning, and strongly suggest not doing weekend evenings.

Loveland Pass (Pass Lake)

Between Breckenridge & Denver
1.5 hours west of Denver | $135 Travel Fee
*Max Guest Count 6 (flexible up to 20)
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings in the area, but you can hike in for privacy.
More Location Info

Absolutely awesome spot! But this is a high alpine environment with volatile weather conditions, and can be very windy. Additionally the location is a 5min walk down a dirt trail that may require stepping over a small “stream”. Not ideal for children or elderly guests.

NO WINTER ACCESS
Inaccessible Oct 30ish - June 10ish

*I really don’t think this location works well for groups of more than 6 guests, but some planners do up to 20 guests, so we can match that on Mon-Thurs, but on weekends the parking may be impossible for larger groups.

Lost Gulch Overlook

Near Boulder, Colorado
45mins west of Denver | $50 Travel Fee
Max Guest Count 0 (flexible up to 10)
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings and lots of people in the area.
More Location Info

This location is a very small area and is INCREDIBLY popular. I only recommend ceremonies here with no guests, Mon-Thurs, before 9am - but we can try other days/times if you don’t mind the crowds. Alternatively, I recommend doing the ceremony at one of our private ceremony sites near Boulder, and then coming here to do photos afterwards!

LIMITED WINTER ACCESS
Road may close November - May

Sawmill Reservoir

Near Breckenridge, Colorado
1.5 hours west of Denver | $135 Travel Fee
Max Guest Count 0 (flexible up to 6)
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Popular elopement location, expect other weddings and people in the area.
More Location Info

I don’t professional recommend this site, but I get asked about it a lot, so here’s the info!
This location is always crowded, has limited parking, and you have to do the ceremony right on the trail—so people end up walking through the ceremony. I always suggest Officer’s Gulch or Loveland Pass over this spot. But if you’re set on using this location, I’d suggest a weekday before 8am.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Near Estes Park, Colorado
2 hours west of Denver | $135 Travel Fee
Total Group Size: Max 30
(including the couple & vendors)
No seating, music, or decorations allowed
Fairly to very popular—depending on the specific site
More Location Info

This spot requires a $300 permit
I can secure this permit on your behalf to expedite the process and get you a $50 discount.

This is for a 2 hour “Ceremony Only” rental of one of their designated sites, but this does not give exclusive use of an area, so people may still be around. Each site offers different views and has different group size limits.
—No Dogs allowed—

Rental Home Weddings?

Policies, availability, and pricing on rental homes in Colorado change constantly, so I’m not able to provide a guide. But if you find a rental home that has a nice deck, or yard, we could do the ceremony there (if the host approves it) and photos in a nearby park!
